We can’t wait to meet you!

Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational church movement focused on the inerrancy of the Bible and the expository teaching from Genesis to Revelation. We are an affiliate church with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not a denominational church, nor do we oppose denominations, only their over-emphasis of doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ.

What do you teach?

Calvary Chapels are known for their dedication to the expositional (verse-by-verse) teaching of God’s Word. Simply put, we teach the bible from Genesis to Revelation!

What about worship?

Our worship setting and style is contemporary  and typically lasts about thirty minutes prior to the teaching of the Word

The Holy Spirit

At Calvary Chapel, we believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and we encourage their exercise, but always decently and in order, with the primary emphasis on the Word of God, which we look to as our primary rule of faith.

Unity of God’s People

We are people who have come together regardless of background or social status with one common focus: Love for Jesus Christ and the desire to know Him more intimately. We focus on personal relationships with Jesus Christ through worship, prayer and teaching of the word of God.

How to dress?

Casual, business casual, snappy casual,  jeans and t-shirts, and anywhere in between.

We believe it is a blessing for believers to share in the work of the Lord through your financial giving, and that it is an act of spiritual obedience for believers to tithe to their local church. We do not pass a plate during our services; there are two offering boxes for you to use as or online giving as you worship the Lord with your tithes and offerings.

We believe that every true born-again-believer has the Holy Spirit living and active in their lives, and it is the presence of the Holy Spirit that places you in the body of Christ, and makes us all members of the church universal. We also believe however  that commitment  to the local church means more then a “casual association.” The Bible teaches and places great value on the Christians commitment to the local church by way of service, giving, love, presence, and fellowship.
We would like to welcome you to Calvary Chapel of Fayetteville, and are looking forward to worshiping and serving the Lord with you as we wait for the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ!

Our History

Calvary Chapel of Fayetteville was originally incorporated as Calvary Community Chapel.  It was a fellowship of believers that started in 1978 by the former senior pastor, David Shirley.  He along with a few other committed Christians started gathering in a living room for prayer and Bible study.  This led to the necessity of a building to gather in.  After hopping around Fayetteville for a few years, we eventually landed on 1422 Ireland Drive, and settled there for 25 years.  During this time, our little fellowship started what is now Fayetteville Christian School, which currently resides on our previous location.
In 2005/6 we sold the church property to FCS and moved to our current location at 9610 Cliffldale Road.

Our first Sunday in the new building was March 19th, 2006.

What We Believe

We believe the bible to be the inspired word of God, without error, the only authority for faith and life.
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His glory.
We believe by grace we are saved through faith in Christ’s death on the cross, and this salvation is the gift of God.
We believe in His Agape love, the only true basis of Christian fellowship, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim ourselves as Christians.
We believe worship of God should be Spiritual. Therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.
We believe worship of God should be Inspirational. Therefore, we give a great place to music in our worship.
We believe worship of God should be Intelligent. Therefore, our services are designed with great emphasis upon teaching of the Word of God that He might instruct us how He should be worshiped.
We believe the worship of God should be Fruitful. Therefore, we look for His Love in our lives as the supreme manifestation that we have truly been worshiping Him.
We believe in one God, existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe mankind is sinful, at war with God, deserving penalty.
We believe Jesus Christ paid the penalty for the sin of mankind by dying on the cross, and that He was physically raised from the dead.
We believe the Holy Spirit lives in the believer of Christ, also the baptism of the Holy Spirit is available in the believer.
We believe in the soon return of Jesus Christ, the gathering of all believers, and the establishment of His kingdom on earth.
We believe in the resurrection of the living and the dead to eternity, the judgment seat of Christ, with believers heaven bound and non-believers lost to eternal penalty in hell.
